Over the last few weeks we have been in collaboration with the guys from L.A Transporters and Hartwell Motor Services, with us all having an input into the VW T5 Transporter builds the L.A boys have been carrying out, and although our input is minimal, we just wanted to show people what these boys can do with the VW Panel van, with the Mercedes Vito also on their build list.

There are quite a few VW T5 specialists around the country, but the L.A Transporter guys seem to go about the business a little differently, looking at doing things their own way, yes they will fit the air suspension, but they prefer to fit either a coil over set up, or the H&R 50mm spring drop as most of the customer base prefers, they then add a 9” and 10” wheel set up, 275/40R20 tyres front and rear, which happens to be slightly oversized, but has the correct load index to match the load rated wheels, they are constantly rectifying their competition wheel and tyre errors, of either incorrect, tyre size, wheel offset, or load index, these boys do it right the first time round, no corners cut on any of the parts they fit.

Over the last few weeks they have been converting a lot of the older T5 to the face lift T5.1 conversion, and they look so much better, with the interiors also coming in for some enhancement, with LED interior lighting, rear seat upgrades, leather trims, rear carpeting and headlining, side windows, stainless side bars, they do it all.

For the VITO they have the Wald Bison conversion, as well as the AMG and Brabus upgrades.

We will be heading to the L.A Transporters team over the next few weeks with our very own T5 that we will be modifying, and we will bring the full details as and when it happens, as well as blogging about the new LWB transporter T5 about to undergo the 5.1 upgrades that’s just about to start.

The new L.A website is not far away from launching, so give them a follow and if you need any work doing on your own Transporter or Vito, give them a shout www.latransporters.co.uk

Our good friend and service partner Hartwell Motor Services have just finished up relocating their business, after 12 years and simply out growing the old premises, Andy the proprietor decided it was time to expand the building to the size of his customer base and ever growing list of services he offers.

On a trip out to get some fuel for one of the service vehicles he came across an old factory unit that was up for lease and with the new building two minutes up the road from his current business, it seemed like a no brainer, and some 3 months later he has completely transformed a 50+ year old factory into a modern day MOT test station, a testament to his vision and where he is looking to take his company, it’s most certainly a place you would be happy to take your pride and joy.

Moving to larger premises has enabled him to spread his wings, with 4-wheel alignment and tyres being added to the huge list of services he now offers, as well as adding the lucrative class 7 MOT along with Class 5 light testing to his credentials, so any vehicles from 3000kg up to 3500kg. i.e. Mercedes Sprinters, Ford Transits, Renault Master, can all be catered for, whilst still being extremely busy on his usual class 4 MOT work.

Tyres are also new addition to the company, with a full list of car and commercial tyres available on request, if they aren’t in stock, they can be delivered or dispatched the same day, call for pricing on the huge selection of brands they now offer. We wish Andy and his team all the best in his all new premises, it nice to see that hard work really does pay off.

Huge congratulations to our good friend Todd and his team from Speed Concepts who took second place overall in this year’s one lap of America, in there awesome Porsche 997 GT3R TT.

Porsche 997 GT3R Twin Turbo

We have been following Todd and his updates and been in regular contact over the year to find out how the upgrades were progressing from last year to this, and it seems with what they have installed in the way of updates did them proud, with a little bit of help along the way from the likes of BBI, Cobb Tuning, it’s been a real pleasure to follow the updates and track the build progress over the last few months.

Full spec of this beauty is as follows:

The car started life as a Porsche Turbo S, and now wears a full carbon fibre GT3R aero kit, including all the nice little extras like the flat underbody floor from front to rear.

This Turbo is running 30/82 turbos, meth injection, air-to-water intercoolers, Speed Concept headers, Dodson clutches and IPD Plenum and custom IPD/SC Y-Pipe. The power is put to the ground through 13” Forgeline wheels with 345/30R19 tyres at the business end, with 12” wheels wearing 325/30R19 up the front. The suspension features ERP and BBI components, 997 RSR uprights, Tarret front sway bar and SC rear sway bar, as you can see its full loaded and no stone has been left unturned in its search for reliable performance, whilst being completely road legal.
