This GTR build has been in the planning stages for quite a while, with March 2020 pencilled in for completion and getting the kit packed up and shipped, but 2020 has pretty much been written off for most forms of motorsport, so the chance to get to see the guys at Concepts Garage put this build together for the time attack has unfortunately been put off until 2021 season which is a shame as this was a build that really got us excited, with every part ordered this is going to be a pretty special GTR.

There is no doubting that the GT3 race version of the GTR is the pinnacle look for the GTR, every aftermarket wide body GTR pretty much takes the styling cues from the GT3, you only have to look at the latest Liberty walk creation to see they have borrowed heavily from the GT500 look, which is a very aggressive style, which you’re either going to like or loath … for us the GT3 style will always be at the very top of the styling tree.

So what carbon parts do we have heading down under to the boys at Concept Garage, lets look at what is included in the track pack as the parts list is extensive and consists of:

Front bumper, front bumper canards, front splitter (complete front floor) front vented fenders, side skirts, rear quarter panels, rear bumpers (lights) rear bumper lower (exhaust) rear diffuser with strakes, rear boot lid, rear wing assembly, carbon replacement roof, front vented bonnet, super lightweight carbon doors.

The parts will be crated up and shipped out next week for the five-week journey across the sea to Sydney as there is no huge rush to get this build started … that’s to the pandemic they have all the time they need to make this GTR race ready for the 2021-time attack weekend.

A special thank you and shout out to our good friend Michael Zomaya from the Lowdown, as without him this would not be happening, appreciate your support as always, we will bring you more on this build as it happens at concept garage, we just have to try and contain the excitement.

It has been a while in the making but as we always say at VAD, perfection takes time and Total Car Concepts (TCC) have absolutely smashed this build out of the park, from the body work to the Switzer engine upgrade that sits up front, this is a serious track build that is also road legal … whoever said GT3 builds will not make good road cars, we beg to differ.

We have been involved with four different GT3 road going builds, Ferrari 458, Nissan GTR, Porsche 997 & our very own BMW Z4 with each and every one proving they don’t just look spectacular road cars, but they can also be used as daily transport, and TCC have yet again proved a Nissan GTR GT3 makes one hell of a machine, with epic race looks to match that blistering Switzer performance.

We met the TCC boys through their trials and tribulations dealing with the criminal activities of Dominik Bahn and his despicable company Carbostuff Engineering, Kevin had issues dealing with Dominik Bahn, but as History shows Kevin was just caught up with a fraud specialist, but luckily Kevin and the TCC crew didn’t lose too much money and we came to the part to assist with some of the carbon race parts they were in need of, and they have also reciprocated helping us source various parts for our GTR parts line up, which has been invaluable.

So on to the build and what updates have been done since we last featured this wonderful GTR back in September 2019, well the main upgrade is it’s been painted, and we are glad to see that colour is white as its suits and shows up all of the wonderful GT3 details and how deceptively wide this aero pack is.

To enhance the GT3 style, TCC have adapted their own centre lock wheel set up keeping the 4WD set up, but using the 13x18 GT3 forged 1 piece Monoblock wheels, its details like this that we absolutely love, with the added bonus of sitting on a bespoke JRZ coilover suspension set up.

To recap on the engine side of this build, it’s been meticulously put together and the spec is mouth-watering and they offer this conversion, which also happens to be the most popular.

We have enjoyed being part of this very special build and we very much look forward to seeing the next chapter of this GTR GT3, once the global pandemic has retreated.

The Nissan GTR has been a huge part of our aero line for the last few years, dating back to 2012 when we constructed what must have been one of the very first carbon fibre wide body GTR packages, fitted with 13x21 forged 3 piece VAD VF1 wheels 345/25R21 tyres, Meister coilover suspension, all finished off with 680 HP engine upgrade and titanium exhaust, we certainly arrived in style even if we do say so ourselves.

The VAD Wide Body Nissan GTR

Various builds of the VAD Wide Body GTR

As soon as that particular GTR hit the streets it sold almost straight away, in 2013 we constructed a second Carbon fibre wide body GTR, this time round we painted it purple, it was around this time we parted company with the Wellingborough body shop as that GTR again found a new owner, over the last few years we have honed the parts and grew the carbon range whilst adding a new wide body aero pack in the form of our favourite GT3 style, the style that dates back to the 2013 / 2014, with the functional and aggressive vents that adorn most of the panels fitted to the GTR, this for us is the ultimate GTR and we have most parts available in carbon fibre as well as woven roving with is a cloth based fibre glass, which is a super light and super strong material that is a cheaper option than the carbon fibre material that the kit is available in.

As well as the main aero panels, we also have a few race options that we have listed as extras, with all of the race parts they are only available in carbon fibre.

Replace carbon fibre roof, front bumper canards, Vented GT3 style bonnet, light weight GT3 Style boot lid with rear wing assembly, supports, wing & end plates, light weight carbon doors with quick release hinges.

To ass to our GTR line up we have a range of super lightweight magnesium wheels in 18” 19” & 20” sizes in 1, 2 & 3 piece with a super hybrid carbon fibre barrelled, magnesium centre 2-piece wheel.

Inconel exhaust and special coilover suspension from the JRZ stable ..2020 may be the time we build another road going GTR, this one will be big and better than our previous builds … it’s time for the Ichiban GT3 VAD GTR

A selection of our road and race carbon fibre parts for the Nissan GTR, we are currently working on MY17 to MY20 Carbon Fibre parts for 2020 so get in touch for furthe rdetails of our ever expanding range for Nissans finest.
